THE FUNDAMENTAL PHILOSOPHY
We believe that each student is made in the image of God, endowed with inherent dignity and thus worthy of love, respect and acceptance. We believe that each student is a unique individual endowed with distinctive character, aptitudes and abilities. We believe in the nurture and development of the whole person – the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and social – to his or her fullest potential.
We recognize that the teacher plays a crucial role in fulfilling our Vision and Mission. We believe that passion for teaching, love for young people, moral character, professional competency and good communication skills are critical prerequisites. Further, we believe that teachers of the Christian faith can best impact students through their own godly character and lifestyle based on a vital personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe that the school should provide a wholesome and non-threatening environment, where the student feels welcomed, secure and happy, and which promotes individual learning, growing, thinking, as well as interpersonal skills and respect for others in the context of a multi-ethnic and multi-religious community. We recognize that the school should not replace but complement the home in the responsibility and task of nurturing, training and socialization of the young person.
We believe that the school should impart the highest and noblest of human knowledge to the student. Further, we believe that educational excellence goes beyond academic results to encompass the meaningful learning of subject matter. The curriculum should encourage critical and creative thinking, instill appreciation of the sciences, arts and culture, and promote character formation and responsible citizenship. At the same time, attention should also be given to the informal curriculum and other forms of extra-curricular activities.
